It is day 3 of school after Christmas break, and the countdown begins..funny some teachers had posted it was 6 weeks till March break, others told kids it was 8 weeks....check the calander people...it is a 9 weeks away! A small amount of time in all consideration still, but nonetheless is a few more than the original 6 that was first mentioned.
I ran this morning, well...to be honest my treadmill routine is one I found in a magazine. It has you on an 8 week routine of walking for a few minutes and running 1 minute, gradually increasing running time and decreasing walking time. This weeks routine is 5 walking, 1 running, 4 walking, 1 running, 4 walking, 1 running, 4 walking, 1 running and then walking for 5 minutes to cool down. 26 minutes, thats it. But after not having exercised for so long...it is the perfect workout to start with. Today was the third day, not consecutive, I've decided to take a day off in between, for now, and eventually work up to every day. Apparently after the 8 weeks I should be able to run a 5 km run! So in March you will find me running around Boulevard!
It looks like the weather is going to more seasonal temps, although -10C is still fairly nice, is it not? Especially for this time of year. I'm attaching some pictures taken over the last few days of the break, sliding, skating and I have to include my chickadee in flight and the sunset last night from my part of the world.
