At 6:00 a.m. tomorrow our time, Michaela will be on her way back from London. I cannot believe that 197 days have gone by so quickly. As happy as I am to have my little girl home, it is a bittersweet home coming. She is living a life of happiness, adventures, friendships, growing, maturing and independance. She will return to our home and complete our puzzle again. She has had an amazing 6 months, seen and done things some of us can only dream of...going to the premiere of a movie and getting Robert Downey Jr.'s signature, Jude Law's signature, and her favourite...Stephen Fry! She played music in music shops, live at the open mic nights and outside on the lawn of Pax. she participated in flash mobs, in protests, and in celebrations. She was the youngest volunteer from Canada to Pax Lodge ever, and blew them away with her maturity, sense of responsibility and her ability to do any task she was given. It was an experience of a lifetime...and now at 18 she comes home and begins the planning of her next adventure...which I suspect, won't be too far away. Welcome home baby girl! We have missed you.My Travels

Sadness for the world...again
My dad turned 75 on Feb. 11, 2012. on that day we are in horror to find out that an icon of the music industry, Whitney Houston, at age 48, is found dead in her hotel room. How does this happen? She was an amazing singer, who became engulfed in the all to common story of fame that lead her into drug abuse and eventually to her demise. I am sad beyond words, why does this happen to these amazing people who have brought us such joy and entertainment. I grew up listening to Whitney, through the highschool years, singing with my family, we all wanted to be her. How does the fame ane money lead them into the lives of destruction. She was flawless, beautiful, and sang like no one else we know. I hope that young artists of today learn from this...let us all remember how great she was and in her time of glory. God keep her and her family in your prayers.
