Happy Birthday to me!
Well, 41, can you believe it? So what did I do today to celebrate? I took Adam to the hospital to get his cast off, folded 3 hampers of laundry and put it away, made turkey wild rice soup, did dishes, swept, vacuumed, picked up little boys, played with little boys outside, ate dinner did dishes again, signed up Davidson for soccer, went to grocery store with Davidson, he picked out a birthday cake, came home, had cake, watched survivor...whew, and now...bed time. that is it, birthday in a nutshell....just another day in the life!

Spring is here!
Well, we made it through winter although wasn't really all that bad. Spring is here, came in nicely with warm temps, but the chilly air is back at least for the next week or so.
We had our first campfire in the back yard last night, just Davidson, Zacchaeus and I at first, then Erin came out to join us. By the time David got home from work, we were ready to go in, but he put a little more wood on the fire and then spent some time out by the fire. It is amazing how a campfire just calms the soul, almost as much as the sound of waves. It was great to spend some time outside.
The little boys and I went for a long walk yesterday, trying to tire them both out, but that really didnt seem to work. They have both been going to bed very late, and I can't seem to get a handle on getting them to bed early, that will be a chore this week, now that school will be back in and they will be back at daycare.
A quick trip to duluth last week was disastrous, as my friend who was with me was sick in the hotel room the whole time, put a real damper on things. The kids and I managed to salvage some fun and some nice long walks along the lake..but the sickness has now spread to Adam...we thought it was all gone from here, I guess not yet.
Anyway, that is all for now. Happy Spring!

Nothing like new furniture
Well, we got ourselves a new sofa and love seat...since we couldn't buy a new home...we bought new furniture...we also picked up some bunkbeds for the litte boys, so as soon as Erin gets her room in order...then we will put those in there.
Then came the rush to sell existing furniture, so kijiji came through and we managed to sell the sleeper sofa and chair, the coffee tables and end table should be gone by Friday evening and hopefully the crib will be gone by the weekend, then we can put that bedroom in order..will be a busy few days, but will be worth it..will make living in this house just a little more tolerable...nothing like new furniture to brighten up your home.

in like a lamb
Well March may have come in like a lamb, but February went out like a lion in this house. Every person got the flu, starting with Zacchaeus and Davidson, it seemed to work its way up by age through every member of the house. It was not a great weekend!
Zacchaeus has been awake since 4:45 a.m. today and is now only content sitting on my lap watching me type this, I should be thankful he isn't wanting to type himself, which is usually the case.
What is new, nothing, still no teaching job, not going to be ahouse purchase, but bought some new furniture instead. Nothing like a new sofa to make your home feel like it has had a makeover, but first have to clean and organize everything else, and sell the old couch and chair to make room. Hopefully by this weekend!
The weather is warming up and it feels like spring, maybe we'll start some seeds this weekend, we'll wait and see.
The cat, well, she is close to finding a new home, scratching furniture, drinking the fish water, wont stay off the table and pooping where she shouldn't has not made her my favourite pet. Hopefully this will all pass.
