It's January 2nd, the year has started and I already feel like I am behind. I was going to post yesterday but missed my chance by being too busy...so here I am today...Happy New Year. Not really making a resolution, only 10% of all resolutions made are every fulfilled...so the other 90% are basically made in vain. That being said, no resolution, but a better outlook on life. To be more humble, more courageous, to leave my worries and troubles with God as He will help to show me the path on which I am meant to travel. The path this past year was bumpy, very bumpy, so I'm hoping this year that it is a much smoother ride. I was blessed with many wonderful things, my son graduated high school, I graduated with my Master of Education degree, I got a beautiful grade one classroom to make my own for the year and made some new friends and great memories. Our family dynamics changed with not one but two furry friends, Mya and Sammy our dogs. My 20 year old daughter moved out, quit school and her job and moved back to her dads house. I pray for her everyday that God will light her pathway and lead her to where she is meant to be.
Life is precious, live each day as if it is your last, and make mistakes. What more can I say. See you soon.

Happy Birthday to me
Its been almost a year since I posted on my blog..somehow my birthday always brings me back to it, wondering what did I do last year and what am I going to do this year. Another year to try to get right all the things that have been done wrong.
One thing that is right...got a new pet..Mya, a beautiful puppy from New Hope Dog Rescue. She is said to be part Dacshund and part collie..and unlikely pairing for sure, but who knows. She is about 5 months old now, and has adjusted to family life with us very well. It is taking a while for the teenagers to get used to having a new responsibility, like taking the dog out, hopefully that will come in time.
I tried to add a picture but cant seem to figure it out, so will try later, wanted to add one of my dog. Oh well, next time.

Happy Easter...a time on new beginnings.
So, I've picked today as the day to try something new..I'm going on a journey over the next 28 days...it will be a magical adventure, that only I will be going on...but hopefully once I have completed the journey, the magic will flow over onto others...that being said...off I go, to discover what lies ahead ...I"ll try to report daily.

Here we go again
One child home, and then Adam left for FRance on Thursday! He is traveling with his school to paris, Nice, Venice, Rome, Pompeii and then an overnight in London before he comes home. Last year for March break he went to China...next year the travel club is going to Berlin, Prague and Munich....he wants to go, but I think he decided that going to University of BC was more important! Good choice I say, but the oppourtunity to travel is amazing..and hard to resist.
Michaela has finally decided to go to school next year, so looks like we'll be a full house for at least another year...until Adam decides to go away.
It is officially March Break, over the next few days I will be filing paperwork for our trip, and I think I might get to unpacking some more boxes...its about time!
Going to be a busy week, lots to do, before we know it we'll be back at school.

Homeward Bound
At 6:00 a.m. tomorrow our time, Michaela will be on her way back from London. I cannot believe that 197 days have gone by so quickly. As happy as I am to have my little girl home, it is a bittersweet home coming. She is living a life of happiness, adventures, friendships, growing, maturing and independance. She will return to our home and complete our puzzle again. She has had an amazing 6 months, seen and done things some of us can only dream of...going to the premiere of a movie and getting Robert Downey Jr.'s signature, Jude Law's signature, and her favourite...Stephen Fry! She played music in music shops, live at the open mic nights and outside on the lawn of Pax. she participated in flash mobs, in protests, and in celebrations. She was the youngest volunteer from Canada to Pax Lodge ever, and blew them away with her maturity, sense of responsibility and her ability to do any task she was given. It was an experience of a lifetime...and now at 18 she comes home and begins the planning of her next adventure...which I suspect, won't be too far away. Welcome home baby girl! We have missed you.
